This is how it works!
Step 1
Find the book you want to buy and choose a seller
To be able to buy used books on Bookis, you must register your user in the app or on the website. This is done quickly by connecting the user to email or Facebook. When you know which book you want to buy, click on "Buy used" to see the selection of used books.

Step 2
Send a request to the seller
Most sellers respond within a few hours after receiving a request. For some, it takes a little longer. The seller has 7 days to respond to the request before it is canceled. Should it take too long before you receive an answer to your request, you can cancel it via the chat function with the seller. When you send a request, the money is reserved from your account.

Step 3
The request is accepted and the book is shipped
ââThe seller accepts your request and selects a date for collection. Once the request is accepted, the money will be withdrawn from your account. Delivery time is normally 2-4 working days after the book is sent from the seller, but may vary based on geographical distance between you. The book is delivered directly to your doormat or in the mailbox.

Frequently asked questions
What is the expected response time from sellers?
Most sellers on Bookis respond within the first two hours. In some cases, it may take a couple of days before the seller responds. If more than 2 days pass, the request will expire and the reservation will be automatically deleted from your account. The seller will receive a warning, and if the next request to the same seller also expires, the seller risks having their account deactivated.
Can I cancel a request after I've sent it?
Yes. Go to messages and tap on the relevant conversation with the seller. At the top of the conversation, you'll find a field with information about the request, where you can tap "See details." Then click "Cancel request." The seller will receive a message that the request has been stopped and the purchase is cancelled. Note: This only applies to requests that have not yet been accepted by the seller. If you want to cancel a request after the seller has accepted it, you need to contact our customer service.
What is the normal delivery time?
A shipment with Helthjem delivery normally takes 2â4 business days from when the book is picked up from the seller until it is delivered to the buyer, but this may vary based on the geographic distance between you and the seller. If you are logged into your Bookis account, you can always see an estimated delivery time before you request a book from a seller â either next to the seller's name in the list of sellers, or right before you send the request.
Where can I track my shipment?
You can easily track your package on our tracking pages. You can find this page at the very bottom of the website under "Customer Service." If you have trouble tracking your package, you can always contact our customer service.
Where will my package be delivered?
Packages are normally delivered to your mailbox or doorstep. If the courier does not have access to deliver the package, it will be delivered to a pickup point at a local store, and you will be notified by SMS when the package is ready for collection.
The seller only has meet-up as an option. Can I still get the book shipped?
You can arrange with the seller to have the book sent via regular postal service, but it is important to note that shipping in this case is at your own risk.
The seller only has meet-up as an option. Can I still pay through Bookis?
Unfortunately, we do not have a system for payment through Bookis if the seller only has "meet-up" as a delivery option. The buyer and seller must therefore arrange privately how the payment will be made. Common practice is to pay via Vipps, cash, or bank transfer.
