Disability and Neoliberal State Formations explores the trajectory of neoliberalism in Australia and its impact on the lives of Australians living with disability, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. In the present era of internationalisation of law, being able to analyse legal culture enables legal cooperation. However, legal culture is still more a theoretical concept than an analytical tool applied when approaching law. There are many kinds of legal cultures, concerning different groups of legal actors or covering different geographical areas, and they are at times overlapping. However, the national legal culture is still the one that has the largest influence on the everyday life of citizens and the day-to-day work of lawyers. In this book, the editors first theorize on and give practical guidance on how to identify, deconstruct and examine legal culture. Based on a common analytical framework, the editors and a large number of expert contributors explore central institutional and intellectual features of legal culture in 12 European countries next to USA, China and Australia allowing the reader to systematically compare legal cultures. Boken bygger på samme filosofi som sin forgjenger: den er skrevet for å leses det er ikke en håndbok for kjappe løsninger. Kolbein Bell er pensjonert professor ved Institutt for konstruksjonsteknikk, NTNU. Han underviste i konstruksjonsmekanikk og anvendt programmering frem til han gikk av i 2009. Han er dr.ing. fra NTH i 1968, og har hatt forskeropphold i USA, England og Nederland. Bell skrev sin hovedoppgave høsten 1962 da NTH fikk sin første datamaskin (GIER), og han har siden vært engasjert i utvikling av programverktøy for konstruksjonsberegninger, først i SINTEF og senere ved NTH og NTNU.

Etikk er en del av hverdagen vår. De fleste ønsker å handle rett og godt og unngå å handle galt og ondt. Vi gjør vanligvis så godt vi kan, uten å tenke så mye over det. Noen ganger kan det derimot være vanskelig å avgjøre hva vi bør gjøre. Vi trenger å tenke oss om. Denne boken er skrevet med tanke på å lære å reflektere systematisk og grundig over etikk på en praktisk anvendelig og jordnær måte. Boken har vært fremhevet som god og praktisk – blant annet i Tidsskrift for Den norske legeforening til Præsteforeningens Blad i Danmark. Kjartan Skogly Kversøy er filosof og pedagog. Han arbeider som dosent ved OsloMet. Kversøy er opptatt av praktisk hverdagsetikk, det å legge til rette for god samtale og læring i grupper. Han mener mulighetene for medvirkning ofte undervurderes i møte med sårbare grupper. Hans forskningsinteresser er for tiden knyttet til medborgerskap, inkludering og samarbeid med personer med utviklingshemming. Kversøy har også, sammen med kollega Marit Hartviksen, skrevet den populære boken Samarbeid og konflikt – to sider av samme sak. Abdul-Razak Kuyini Alhassan arbeider som førsteamanuensis ved Universitetet i Sørøst-Norge. Han er født og vokst opp i Ghana, men har tatt store deler av sin høyere utdanning i Norge. Abdul-Razak har arbeidet i Ghana, Norge og USA. Han kjenner godt mangfoldet av kommunikasjonsutfordringer som oppstår når mennesker møtes på tvers av land, språk og miljøer. Hans forskningsinteresser er knyttet til spesialpedagogikk, flerkulturell utdanning, inkludering og barnevern.
